Everything since the Northwest trip! (It's been a while I know...)

Hey everyone!!!
Its been quite a while since I last posted but I have been quite busy with classes and assignments and I suppose those come above blogging in my priorities :P.

So a lot has been happening since then but the major things would have to be my Southwest trip, my trip to New Zealand and a few other highlights.

Well first of all at the end of April I went to Penguin Island with Molly! It was great to see the little fairy penguins and take a boat trip around the other little islands around ( mainly seal island) And it was great! :)

Then the next day was ANZAC day and a bunch of us went into the city to go to kings park for the sunrise service.  It was really cold and there were a lot of people but the sunrise was pretty beautiful :)

Then I made kinda last minute plans for my trip to NEW ZEALAND! My friends Brian and Merle and I decided to roadtrip from Christchurch to Auckland for our second study break.  But before that I went to the Southwest on another trip!
We made our way down south stopping in Augusta and then Albany before making our way back to Perth.  The trip included looking at some caves, the bicentennial tree (A really tall tree you can climb but I didn't, I would have fallen to my death...), a treetop walk and some hikes and views :)

Just some pictures from the lovely Southwest trip! :)

Then I got to go to the Fremantle Prison for a torchlight (Flashlight) tour.  That was fun but not as scary as some people thought :)

Then I went to ZEW ZEALAND!!!!
I can't even put into words how amazing New Zealand was! Our flight from Brisbane to Christchurch got delayed so we couldn't get our campervan when we got there.  We thankfully got to a hostel right as the worker was leaving so we got a room for the night.  The next morning we got our campervan and got everything situated and made our way out of Christchurch.  We made our way to Kaikoura which was really beautiful. It was a cute little town.  We then made our way to Picton the next day for the ferry to the North Island.  Picton was s great.  We loved it so much.  Then we made our way to Wellington!  That was a lot of fun. The city was really nice.  Im obviously not very descriptive with my words.... After that we made our way to Tongariro National Park.  The weather turned pretty windy and rainy so we didn't get to do the big hike we had planned so we had to change our plans a little bit.  We made our way to Taupo and tried to deal with the rain.  Then we had a fun filled day after that! We made our way to Wai-O-Tapu for the morning.  Wai-O-Tapu is a thermal springs that was really cool and we got to see a geyser! The whole thing was beautiful even though it did smell like sulfur.  Then we made our way to Hobbiton!!!!! That was so surreal and even though I haven't seen any of the LOTR movies I still was amazed!! Then we spent the night in Tauranga.  We got up and hiked up Mt. Maunganui which was fun!! We then made our way to Cathedral Cove.  We got to hike our way to a place where a scene from The Chronicles of Narnia was filmed!! Then we made our way to our final destination: Auckland! We had to return our campervan a while before our flight but we got to wander around the city and then we spent the night at the airport! Then we made our way back to Perth! But my words can't really do the trip justice so you can check out all of the photos on my page and the video that my friend Brian made (also on my FB page).  All in all I love New Zealand so very much and I already want to go back!

Then the next week was actually pretty terrible.  I got sick at the end of the trip and then at the end of the week I found out some of the saddest news I have ever heard: my friend and ZTA sister Taylor passed away.  It was heartbreaking and I am still processing it.  It is so hard being so far away from my other sisters.

Then two of my friends ran a marathon in Perth and some of us went down there to cheer them on!!
After that within a week, we celebrated 2 of my friends 21st birthdays which was quite fun!

The last major highlight was the ballet I went to last week!!! It was called Embraceable You.  I realized how much I enjoyed watching the dancing and listening to the amazing music and looking into the pit.  It was amazing!
The rest of the time has been spent doing assignments, procrastinating from doing assignments and finishing classes!

Classes are now over and we have the next week off to "study" before the 2 week exam period.  After that I am coming home! I can't believe the time has come to actually think about leaving.  It feels like I have been here forever, but on the other hand the time has gone by so fast.

Until next time!
